Tale of buried treasure.

There's a lot of things that can be argued about Jose Gaspar, many things have come into question. We do know he favored the safe Waters of our area and the shallow Waters of Charlotte harbor where it was easy for him to outrun and hide from the US Navy's pirate hunting vessel the USS Enterprise , and yes, this is where that it is said, 

he buried his treasure. Still yet to be discovered today.

 Treasure hunters, both professional and amateur, have sought Gaspar's treasure over the years here in southwest Florida

 of course to no avail. 

Gaspar's legend is one of a murderous, bloodthirsty swashbuckler who stole money from Spain, stole a ship, kidnapped a Spanish Princess, and left a trail of death and gold throughout the high seas. An incredible life no doubt. Yet some people, including most experts, are in doubt his existence. In spite of this he has still gained hero status in the hearts of Southwest Floridians. 

   While you're here worshiping the Sun and hunting sharks teeth, take a charter through Charlotte harbor and up the Myakka river and Hunt some pirates treasure. This is where Gaspar's treasure is said to be hidden. Don't believe me, just Google it!
